Game On #

After a year of developing the car in isolation from the rest of the world, competition is when the team can finally measure themselves against other brilliant engineers around the globe.

On the scales at the first competition, GFR17c weighed in to be the lightest ‘aero’ car ever built for the FSAE competition. Weighing in at 296lbs, the full aerodynamics package represented only 7% of total vehicle weight, but made 90% of vehicle weight in downforce at average speed, an impressive accolade given the restrictive rules set.

Competition takes places over 4 days, and is a grueling test for the team. Things rarely go to plan, and quick thinking is required to prevent all of the work over the last from getting derailed.
